Thank you all :)

Robert Seddon, thank you particularly. I didn't realise that piece of terminology had already been coined, so to speak. You're also right, I am looking for something to refer to a kind of commons. I'll clarify in future, or find something that won't get confused with smuggling antiquities ;)

Wow, impressive!
I´m studying sociologie, technolgy & science oriented, and will put a (or, if possible THE) focus of my work on videogames, it´s possibilities and influences.
As this and a gamer for about 20 years now, I congratulate you to your really good overview & kind of a case studie on the world of gaming!

I think I've heard of "The Game" before, except it's usually called by its proper name; OCD. Mind virus is a pretty excellent way of describing it, actually.

Boring but hopefully helpful point of information: the term 'cultural property' has an established meaning, e.g. in the UNESCO Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property, and I think what the author has in mind is closer to the visions of an intellectual commons employed (somewhat differently in each case) by James Boyle and Peter Drahos. Sorry if I sound pedantic, but I'd recommend steering clear of using 'cultural property' loosely.
